Hello
My name is Kyle Jordan Smith, and I am a J.D. candidate and Garrison Social Justice Scholar at Vanderbilt Law School.
As someone committed to improving our system of justice, I am pursuing a career in civil rights and criminal legal reform.
By leveraging my lived experiences and background in public policy, I plan to lead a career in litigation and policy advocacy.
After witnessing how the criminal legal system often mistreats Black and brown youth, I was driven to study and practice law. First inspired by my advisor in the NAACP Youth Council, I developed a passion for grassroots advocacy and policy reform that I took with me to college and law school. Based on my experiences, I believe the law can play a pivotal role in eliminating systemic barriers for communities like mine, and I remain committed to using my education to advance the fight for racial justice.
